Welcome to the official web-site of the Scottish Amateur Rowing Association

The Scottish Amateur Rowing Association (SARA) promotes safe participation, by both men and women, in rowing and sculling in Scotland - at every level from novice to elite, from junior to veteran. This web-site provides information for Scottish rowers and for visitors/those interested in taking up the sport, including:

If you are a rower visiting or moving to Scotland, do contact a local club: you'll be made very welcome.

If you're interested in taking up rowing, contact a club in your area: all clubs have equipment and coaches to help you get started: you don't have to be world champion material toenjoy the sport!

The SARA is fully committed to the principles of equality of opportunity and is responsible for ensuring that no member, volunteer, employee or job applicant receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental or marital status, pregnancy, religious belief, social status, sexual orientation or political belief.
