HIR Provisional Team: The PPG has now approved the provisional team list for HIR 2008, to be held in Cardiff. Please read the notes attached to the list and if there are any queries, please contact Graeme Cunningham (Team Manager) or Jo Wherrett (Acting Assistant Team Manager).

Scot Champs T-shirts: Rock the Boat are dismayed to learn that some of the souvenir t-shirts made for Scottish Champs 2008 are not up to their usual standard. It appears that a power surge in the printing process has meant that the ink has not dried and set on some of the shirts. This is not their usual quality of work and they are upset, embarrassed and annoyed (to say the least) that it has happened - particularly as they had done a laundry-test on a sample before the event to ensure they would be good. If you have one of the faulty shirts please email di@rock-the-boat.co.uk and let her know what you have (whether it is baggy or fitted and the size) and your address so that they can send you a perfect quality replacement. They will collect all the names whilst they are at Henley and then get the replacements printed and sent to you in mid July. They apologise sincerely and thank you for the opportunity to put it right.

Boat Naming Ceremony at Inverness Rowing Club Highland 2007 Year of Culture: Inverness Rowing Club has been the fortunate recipient of a variety of rowing equipment funded mainly by Highland 2007 Year of Culture. Seven new boats with oars have been purchased by the club specifically for young rowers. The Henley Royal Regatta Stewards Trust Fund has generously provided invaluable additional match funding which was also used to assist with the provision of new rowing machines used for coaching and training. At the boat-naming ceremony last Saturday, a total of ten boats were officially christened with champagne by Councillor Thomas Prag (representing Highland 2007), Mr George Hawco (Director of one of the club's regatta sponsors) and Susanne Standish Hunter (Inverness Club Captain).

Blades left at Scot Champs: ASRA have unfortunately left a pair of double scull blades at the weekend. SPRC have not been able to find them, so it is possible someone took them by accident. They are new concept 2 blades with green handles and white painted spoons; they should be labelled ASRA and have black/white/green+yellow electrical tape above the collar. If you have found them, please contact Colin Wallace at asrarowing@hotmail.co.uk.

Junior Coach Disclosures: Coaches of junior athletes intending to attend this year's Home International Regatta should be aware that in order to comply with the SARA child protection policy they MUST complete an application for a Disclosure Scotland Certificate. The SARA Child Protection Officer will be available at the National Rowing Academy this Saturday with application forms and to verify the required documentation. These are photographic proof of ID and two proofs of address. Applications cannot be accepted without this documentation. Coaches not making applications at this time will need to make personal arrangements with the SARA Child Protection Officer and should be aware that Disclosures can take in excess of 30 days to process.
