Photographs and Aberdeen Sprint: Snapper Ron has posted pictures from the Inverness Sprint on the Committee of the Dee website. Also posted on the same site are entry details for the Aberdeen Sprint on 13th September. Entries close on 7th September.

St Andrew BC Garden Party: St Andrew BC are hosting a garden party on Sunday 14 September, which will include a celebration of George Hunter OBE's life-long contribution to the club and to Scottish Rowing. Tickets are available from Iain Wilson.

Million Metre Challenge: On 1st October 2008 Queen Anne High School in Dunfermline is organising a Million Metre Challenge and asking all their pupils to participate as well as staff and as many parents/guests as possible. In addition to 16 machines, Concept 2 have loaned the school 40 more machines to make a grand total of 56 machines. The purpose of this is to raise money for both school funds and Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and to try to enthuse young people about the benefits of taking exercise. They are hoping to build on the excitement of Beijing. The whole programme entails each pupil/staff member/parent/guest rowing for just 5 minutes and being sponsored for 1p per metre. With around 2000 participants they should reach our goal of one million metres in the day(!) thus raising around £10,000 equally split between the school and CHAS. The school is of course seeking sponsorships and any "celebrities" to come along to help our cause. Further information is available.

If anyone from the Central Belt, or travelling from the north via the Stirling area, has space and could help, please contact Liliane McGeoch.
