Gold Rush: News from the SUBC Four in the States
Strathclyde Universities first four have tasted success in the first leg of their US Tour. They beat off stiff competition from eighteen Varsity Crews to win the Colliegiate Coxed fours event at Clemson Regatta. The crew have been particularly impressed with the friendliness of the Carolinans, who have showed nothing but support, and were quick to applaud their success. They will be travelling to Tennesee this coming weekend to compete at John Hunter Regatta. More information, including race reports and photos, can be found at www.scot-row.4t.com
Fanatic Sports & Leisure: Fanatic, who now sell prints from the Red Head label, will be running a kit stand at the SABC Regatta on 9th April.
Regatta reminders: A reminder that the closing date for the St Andrew BC Regatta on 9th April is next Sunday (5pm, 3rd April). Entries can be made by post, email, phone or on-line.
The Strathclyde Park Regatta organising committee would also like to remind all clubs that entries close at 12 noon on Wednesday 13th April. They would be pleased if everyone could fully complete the entry forms (preferably typed) and use the correct sheets for each day.

SARA Awards Dinner - Further Information:
The Annual SARA Awards Dinner and Ceremony will be staged in the Alona Hotel at Strathclyde Park on Saturday 23rd April. The entertainment includes a guest speaker, a quality three-course meal and of course the Awards Ceremony itself.
The ticket price is £35 and from this £5 from each ticket sale will go directly to supporting this year's Home International Team in Cardiff.
So, book your tickets today by e-mailing or writing – and sending your cheque - to Jo Ramsay, SARA Administrator, National Rowing Academy, Strathclyde Park.

SARA Awards Dinner: The 2005 Dinner will take place on Saturday 23rd April, at the Alona Hotel, Strathclyde Park. Along with a 3 course dinner and the Scottish Rowing Awards, there will be a surprise guest speaker at the dinner. Tickets cost £35, and for every ticket sold, £5 will go towards funding the Scottish Rowing Team at the Home International Regatta, to be held in Cardiff this year.
Scottish Pennant winners at the Vets Head: Alexandra BC (Edinburgh Uni alumuni rowers) competed in two composite crews last weekend, both containing 8 EUBC graduates. The Mixed Vet A crew finished in an impressive 22nd place, winning their event. In doing so, the crew beat the Mens Vet A crew!

St Andrew BC Regatta: Information for the SABC Regatta at Lochore Meadows, Fife on Saturday 9th April is now available on the SABC website.

Men's Tideway: Results for the Men's Head of the River Race are now available on the HoRR website. First Scottish crew home were Glasgow University (S3) in 39th place, only one second behind the winner of the S3 pennant.
Scottish Schools Head: At today's head race on the Clyde, George Watsons College J15 4+ finished Head of the River, with George Heriots School winning J18 4+ and J16 4+ in both the mens and womens events.

FISA World Masters: The World Masters website has been updated with new information and translations in various languages. A press release about the event has also been released.

Scottish Schools Head: The draw and other information for Saturday's School's Head of the Clyde is now available.
Date change: The Strathclyde University Sprint Regatta has changed date from 27 March to 16 April.

SARA Awards 2005: Nominations for the Scottish Rowing Awards 2005 are now being accepted. Details from the award nomination form may be emailed or posted to Alison Harrison, or submitted on-line (now working).
Scottish Senior Team Training Weekends: Revised information sheet has been uploaded.
Aberdeen Universities Boat Race: The crews racing past Duthie Park in Saturday's race, which AUBC won by approx. 3 lengths. RGU won the Alumni Race.

Scottish Senior Team Training Weekends: Gary Bain, Team Manager, has sent information on the training weekends for all athletes aspiring to Scottish selection for the 2005 senior HIR team. Could all athletes who have previously spoken to Gary Bain about the weekend, please confirm with Fiona Insch that they would like to attend.
The Senior Women's weekend is March 26th/27th and the Senior Men's weekend is April 2nd/3rd (please note that these are incorrect in the senior selection policy).
Glasgow Small Boats Head: Results for Saturday's head are now available: Division 1, Division 2.
Boat Race: The north-east's version of the boat race took place on Saturday. Aberdeen University came out victorious in the main event, but Robert Gordon University alumni were stronger than their AUBC counterparts. Pictures of the event to follow.
University Winter League: As the Clydesdale Head is not going to be re-run before the end of the university year, the result of the University Winter League has now been confirmed, with Strathclyde University holding onto the Thornton Trophy.

Tideway Scullers Head: Entries are now open for the Tideway Scullers Head to be held on Saturday 9th April at 4.30pm. Each adult category winner be given a crate of beer at the prize giving after the race. Further details and entry information can be found from www.tidewayscullers.com/head.htm

Schools Head results: The results from the Schools Head of the River Race are now available on the School HoR website.
Congratulations to the Edinburgh schools rowers - George Watsons College won J15 4+ and George Heriots School won JW 4+ and had a second place in WJ16 4+.

FISA Masters Regatta 2005: An update on the FISA World Masters is downloadable here, along with a form for all potential volunteers to complete and return to Bob Neill.
Scottish Schools Head, 19th March: The information for the Scottish Schools Fours Head of the River, Glasgow is now available - letter, entry form, divisions, rules. Bob Neill would be happy to hear from any adults willing to assist with the running of the event (contact him on 07764-630-177).
Clydesdale Regatta Cancelled: Following the cancellation of their head race, Clydesdale ARC have decided not to go ahead with the regatta scheduled for 16th April.
Sales and Wants: Two single sculls for sale on the Sales and Wants page.
First Scottish club home was George Heriots School with juniors Steph McDowell and Polly Swann in the GB composite junior eight (30th), followed by Clydesdale ARC A (S1, 39th), Aberdeen Uni BC A (S2, 51st), Glasgow University Ladies BC A (S3, 67th) and St Andrew BC (S3, 84th) all in the top 100. Also competeing were Robert Gordon University, Heriot-Watt University and Strathclyde University. Well done to all.

Strathclyde Park Regatta: Information for SPR is now available - this has also been sent to all English, Irish and Welsh clubs and the organisers are hopeful that lots of visitors from outside Scotland will come north to see the course for this years World Masters Regatta.
The information files are over on the right. Please download the entry and summary sheets and use these to complete your entries (typed please!). The organisers also would like to remind everyone that the sheets for each day are different and the correct sheets for each day should be used.
