Planning on competing on the Tideway?: Urgent Notice from Sandy Walker, Convenor of Racing Control:
As you may already be aware, regulations regarding the identification of boats, which have been agreed with the Port of London Authority and instigated by the Amateur Rowing Association, have recently been brought into force. This affects all rowing and sculling boats and launches using the tidal Thames either for racing training or recreational purposes and as such includes visiting crews from Scotland.
Essentially the identification method is a three letter club code plus a three digit fleet number. The three letter codes are the same as those used in the National Championships of Great Britain and as such are already allocated to the Scottish clubs. A list of Scottish clubs and their codes is available on the downloads page.
The requirements and guidance notes prepared by the ARA pertaining to the boat identification scheme are also on the downloads page. These notes are self explanatory and indicate the size and location of the lettering to be used. As further preparation clubs can obtain useful safety and Tideway navigation information from the Thames Regional Rowing Council website www.thamesregion.rowing.org.uk.

Missing riggers: Clyde ARC have lost a set of pairs riggers for a Janousek pair. They are Carl Douglas Aerowings and have a serial number 98519 and may have some blue tape left on them. They could have been lost anywhere between Cardiff where the boat was at HIR/EUSA and the FISA Masters at Strathclyde Park as it has travelled on a number of trailers between these regattas. If anyone has picked them up anywhere could they please e-mail Graeme Dreghorn at Graeme_D@(NOSPAM)hotmail.co.uk.
Missing blades: At HIR the men's junior 4- from Heriots, Castle Semple and Strathclyde Park borrowed four blades from Castle Semple. The boys are certain that these blades were loaded onto the trailer but seem to have been picked up by someone else when this was unloaded. If they're sitting in your boathouse, please contact Peter Barton.
