Scottish Rowing is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to fill the role of Regional Development Manager for the West Region. Successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to grow the sport across the region (which extends from Argyll and Bute across to Lanarkshire and down to Dumfries and Galloway) and will share our passion and vision for the development of rowing. This role will require leadership, planning, delivery and communication skills along with the ability to network successfully within the sport and with all current and potential partners and relevant agencies.

Scottish Championships and the Scottish Schools Championships will take place at Strathclyde Park on the 15th and 16th June. Racing will take place over 1500m with the exception of adaptive events (1000m) and the schools project event (500m). Full details of the events offered are now available.

At the Gent Spring International Regatta on the 13th and 14th April, crews from the Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association won 6 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals over the two days of the competition.

Inverness' Imogen Walsh won today's GB Rowing Team trial, justifying her pre-event tag as favourite in the lightweight women's category, to set the mood for the Scottish contingent at the Redgrave-Pinsent Rowing Lake in Caversham, Reading. The 29-year-old, a world champion in 2011 in the lightweight women's quad scull, was an emphatic winner after building a strong lead through the middle of the race, finishing ahead of Ruth Walczak and early challenger Eleanor Piggott.

With Katherine Grainger, Heather Stanning and a number of other Olympic Champions missing as they contemplate their futures, a new look GB Rowing Team produced a performance at the opening 2013 Samsung World Rowing Cup in Sydney, Australia, which bodes well for the future of the sport on the road to Rio 2016. Three Scots who didn't feature at London 2012 stepped up to the mark and recorded some impressive results as part of a strong British team performance which delivered four golds, a silver and two bronzes from 14 crews.
