Ten Scots were named today in the 64-strong squad of athletes competing for Great Britain at World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne next weekend (7-9 July).

Having won silver in the eight in Poznan, Karen Bennett is back in the pair with the return from injury of her partner Holly Norton.  Katherine Douglas retains her place in the eight.

Cameron Buchan and Callum McBrierty are part of a men’s eight which took bronze in round two of the World Cup.

Maddie Arlett returns to the squad after taking bronze in her senior team debut at World Cup I, and along with Robyn Hart-Winks, who is making her GB senior debut, joins the lightweight women’s quad with Ellie Piggott and Gemma Hall.

Lightweight men’s pair duo Sam Scrimgeour and Joel Cassells continue their partnership as they fine tune their race plan ahead of September’s World Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida.

A women’s four is entered for the first time this season, with Scots Melissa Wilson and Rowan McKellar joining forces with Holly Hill and Hattie Taylor.  The International Olympic Committee recently announced that the women’s four will replace the lightweight men’s four on the Olympic programme in 2020.

Alan Sinclair, who has been recovering from shoulder surgery since January, has been named as spare in the men's squad.
