Scottish Rowing believes in protecting the rights of athletes to participate in clean sport and works in partnership with sportscotland, British Rowing and UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) to ensure that the integrity of our sport is protected.

All rowers should understand that they are subject to ‘strict liability’ regarding Anti-Doping and it is their responsibility to understand the Anti-Doping rules and be 100% sure of any medication or supplement they may take.

Scottish Rowing has developed an Anti-Doping Education Programme to help inform and educate athletes, parents, coaches and support staff on clean sport and the associated risks.

For the 2017/18 season Clean Sport Workshops will be organised by Scottish Rowing as follows:

  • For all ‘home based’ athletes (and their coaches) supported through the Scottish Rowing Performance Programme (to also include the Food First 1 and 2 workshops)
  • Regionally in the North, West and East of Scotland during the autumn, attendance at which will be compulsory for any athlete or coach wishing to represent the Scotland Rowing Team in 2018

In addition, any Scottish athletes seeking GB Rowing Team selection may attend a Clean Sport Workshop organised by British Rowing during the trialling process.

More information on the Scottish Rowing Anti-Doping Education Programme will be provided in due course through the Scottish Rowing website.

100% Me Clean Sport App

Rowers, parents, coaches and support staff are strongly encouraged to download the ‘100% Me’ Clean Sport App which is free to download on either iOS or Android phones.

The App provides clear and concise anti-doping advice, guidance and updates where you can check medication, learn more about the risks with supplements, or simply understand more about the testing procedures.
