The Executive Committee of the Scottish Amateur Rowing Association, usually known as the SARA Executive, is elected by the Annual General meeting of the Association. The membership of the Executive comprises:

  • Two Vice Presidents (for 3 years each)
  • The Treasurer (for 3 years)
  • The Secretary (for 3 years)
  • The immediate Past President (for 3 years)
  • Three Ordinary Members (for 1 year each)

Members are not elected to represent regional constituencies or their own clubs, but to manage the affairs of the national governing body in the best interests of the sport as whole. Members of the Executive are volunteers (unpaid).

The Executive meets monthly or more frequently as required by the business in hand. Individual members of the Executive also play an active part in the wider management and organisation of the sport in Scotland through their roles on sub-committees.
