Welcome to the Scottish Rowing Schools Indoor League for 2020!
Indoor rowing is a non-traditional, high energy sport for pupils to compete in as individuals or as teams. This sport is something different which is simple and easily accessible, for an all over body work out, where no-one is left behind!
At a time when it is difficult to safely run many sports, indoor rowing is an easily manageable activity that can offers the opportunity to compete nationally without having to leave your school. Scottish Rowing has developed guidance for indoor rowing in a school setting.
Anyone can take part in the league, with scores being submitted electronically. Pupils who enter earn points towards the school total simply by taking part and there are extra points if they finish in the top 10 for their age category in each round. The school with the most points at the end of the league will be awarded the trophy and crowned champions for 2020.
There are 3 rounds held in your school. Each round consists of a fixed time race for each pupil. The times for each age & gender category are compared nationally with the top pupil performances receiving points for the school. Schools also receive points based on how many pupils take part in each round. The fixed times for each age group are:
|Duration of Race
|S1 Boys and Girls||2 Minutes|
|S2 Boys and Girls||3 Minutes|
|S3 Boys and Girls||4 Minutes|
|S4 Boys and Girls||5 Minutes|
