When you apply for a role with Scottish Rowing we collect your application form or CV, your contact details, employment and education history, references, and your right to work in the UK. For roles working with children or protected adults we also collect a self-declaration and PVG scheme information.
We use this to assess your application, communicate with you, and meet our legal obligations - including safer recruitment. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in recruiting suitable people, and for pre-employment checks, compliance with a legal obligation. Where we collect information about health or disability, we use it only to make reasonable adjustments.
Equality monitoring information is optional, kept separate from your application, and never seen by the selection panel.
We share information with referees you have named, and with Disclosure Scotland for regulated roles.
If you are appointed, your application becomes part of your employment record. If not, we keep it for six months and then delete it - you can ask us to delete it sooner.
You have the right to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, and complain to the ICO. If you have a concern about how your application was handled, contact us at dp@scottish-rowing.org.uk
