The GB Rowing Team’s Under 19 Programme Manager Dan Cooper recently spent four days in Scotland where he was able to engage with athletes and coaches from across the Scottish Rowing community.
Dan was a guest coach at the Scottish Rowing Junior Academy camp held at Strathclyde Park on Saturday 21 January where he led a video analysis session and presented a GB Rowing Team update.
He also got the opportunity to travel around Scotland visiting training sessions with Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association, George Watson’s College and St Andrew Boat Club.
Commenting on his visit, Dan Cooper, GB Rowing Team Under 19 Programme Manager said:
“It was fantastic to spend time with Scottish rowers and their coaches both at their own clubs and schools and within the Scottish Rowing Junior Academy.
“Scottish Rowing has a strong history of developing rowers through the Olympic pathway and it is clear from my visit and recent performances that this will continue into the future.”
Lee Boucher, Scottish Rowing’s Head of Performance Pathway said:
“Scottish Rowing continues to enjoy a strong working relationship with the GB Rowing Team at all levels of the pathway and we are delighted that Dan was able to come up and spend time working with our athletes and coaches in their home environments.”
Scotland’s leading junior rowers are currently preparing for the upcoming GB Rowing Team Under 19 Trial in Boston, Lincolnshire on 18-19 February.
