Scottish Rowing is delighted to congratulate Gillian Stewart and Cara O’Donnell on successfully completing the Level 4 Certificate in Sports Governance, awarded by the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.

Gillian and Cara both achieved a Merit following a demanding programme of study which began in October 2025 and concluded with their final assessment in June 2026.

Delivered through the Sports Governance Academy, the qualification is designed for people with governance responsibilities across the sport and physical activity sector. It covers the principles of good governance alongside areas including organisational structures, legislation, risk management, compliance, ethics and stakeholder engagement.

Completing the qualification was a significant undertaking. The programme involved more than 200 hours of study across four modules, followed by a written assignment and a multiple-choice examination.

Scottish Rowing was pleased to support Gillian and Cara through the programme as part of our commitment to investing in our people and strengthening the skills and knowledge available across the organisation.

Their success is a fantastic achievement and reflects the commitment they both made alongside their existing responsibilities. We look forward to seeing the benefit of their learning across Scottish Rowing in the months and years ahead.

Congratulations to Gillian and Cara from everyone at Scottish Rowing.
