Scottish Rowing Covid-19 Update – First Minister’s Statement 28th May 2020

Posted: 28 May, 2019

COVID1928MAY

Scottish Rowing welcomes the First Minister’s announcement that Scotland is now moving to Phase 1 of the route map and in particular the inclusion of the extension to the current daily exercise guidelines to include certain outdoor sport activities.

We have been working closely with sportscotland and other Scottish Governing bodies of sport to work up our plans for how rowing activities can return as the lockdown eases and will continue to work closely with them over the coming weeks.

We are now able to publish our detailed guidance for Phase 1 which sets out the conditions under which rowing can take place and ensures participants who are able to row can do so safely and in accordance with the Scottish Government Guidelines. This Guidance can be found on our Covid-19 Phase 1 Guidance page.

“The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry” - Robert Burns

After a long, arduous winter of scrutiny - the last winter before the Olympics- I’ve just come 4th with my pairs partner at Olympic trials and pencilled in my name for a seat in the coxless pair at Rio.
