The Scotland Rowing Team selection policy documents for the 2025 Home International Rowing Regatta (HIRR) and the Home International Rowing Beach Sprints (HIRBS) have today been published for both Athletes and Coaches/Boat handlers.
The Selection Policies can be found HERE.
Wales will be hosting the 2025 HIR Regatta at Eton Dorney on Saturday 26th July. In 2024 the Scotland Rowing Team secured nine wins, finishing a close second overall in both the Senior Men and Senior Women’s events.
In 2025 Ireland will host the HIR Beach Sprints Regatta for the first time, now in it’s fourth year, the event goes to Loughros Point in County Donegal. In 2024, Scotland finished second overall in the chase for the Guin Batten Trophy, winning the CMix 2x on the day,
Tom Young, Scottish Rowing’s Interim Head of Performance, said:
“As we look towards the first Summer of racing in the new Olympiad, I’m excited to see the next cohort of talented athletes come together as part of the Scotland Rowing Team and take on the teams from the other Home Nations. We know that these events will be an important stepping stone for athletes who have future GB Rowing Team aspirations, and I look forward to seeing the strength of the teams we put together.”
After the recent news of long standing HIR Team Manager, Graeme Cunningham, stepping back from his role, Scottish Rowing will shortly be recruiting for the HIRR Scotland Team Manager. For any informal enquiries regarding the role, please get in touch with Tom Young.
