Umpire Training & Recruitment

Posted: October 4, 2017

Scottish Rowing is about to start recruiting and training more umpires.

Umpires ensure races are run fairly and safely.  They are also responsible for enforcing the rules of racing at events as well as providing objective feedback on the standard of event organisation.  Without good quality umpires, the race calendar could not run.

We would like to hear from people who have some experience of rowing, and who want to contribute to the sport by acting as officials.

To apply, or to find out more about what is involved, please contact the Umpires Commission through Neil MacFarlane sr.racingcontrol@gmail.com by 27th October 2017.
