Tickets for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships – a brand new event on the global sporting calendar - will go on sale to the general public from Wednesday 14 June, it has been announced today.
The on-sale date for the 84 thrilling sporting sessions across 12 venues was revealed via an interactive light show projected onto the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow. The event will be inclusive and accessible, with tickets starting from just £10, and under-16s attending the cheapest sessions for just £5.
Fans who want to secure tickets to their preferred sports before the general sale date are urged to sign up for priority ticket access via the Glasgow 2018 website at www.glasgow2018.com/join-in-form while they still can.

Scottish Rowing is delighted to announce today that Lee Boucher has been appointed to the new and exciting role of Head of Performance Pathway.
Boucher has been tasked with developing a sustainable performance programme which will aim to support more home-based Scottish rowers progressing through Great Britain’s junior and under 23 teams and on to GB Rowing Team senior squads.

Today we announce the appointment of Lee Boucher as the new Head of Performance Pathway for Scottish Rowing. We took this opportunity to grill him about his new role.
If there is such a thing as your perfect job, is this it? Just how excited are you about getting started?
I’ve been involved in rowing all my life from a very young age, initially as an athlete at Methodist College Belfast, then as a coach at Heriot-Watt University and over the past 10 years as a volunteer with Scottish Rowing. So yes, to take my passion for the sport forward as a career is extremely exciting for me and a personal challenge that I can’t wait to get started.

This year’s 6th of May Clydesdale Regatta is cancelled.
Clydesdale are looking to organise a new sprint event in August. We are looking forward to this new event and hope to see you all there. More information will be given out closer to the time, so keep an eye out to their website and be ready!

Rio 2016 silver medallist Karen Bennett led the way as athletes representing Scottish Rowing performed with distinction at the 2017 GB Rowing Team Senior and Under 23 Trials at Caversham this morning.

Three world champions are amongst a Scottish Rowing supported group of athletes invited to this week's GB Rowing Team Senior & Under 23 trials (14-16 April) at Caversham, hoping to put down strong performances to help secure places on international teams this summer.
The 10 athletes trialling at the venue near Reading are Maddie Arlett (Selkirk, Edinburgh Uni BC), Josh Armstrong (Glasgow, Edinburgh Uni BC), Fiona Bell (Kilmacolm, Aberdeen Uni BC), Jack Burns (Glasgow, Clydesdale ARC), Matt Curtis (Durham, Edinburgh Uni BC), Gavin Horsburgh (Lochwinnoch, Edinburgh Uni BC), Calum Irvine (Aviemore, Edinburgh Uni BC), Graham Ord (Hamilton, Edinburgh Uni BC), James Temple (Kew, Edinburgh Uni BC) and Oli Wilkes (Matlock, Edinburgh Uni BC).

British Rowing and Scottish Rowing have joined forces to uncover the next generation of Olympic rowing champions.British Rowing’s World Class Start programme is opening a new centre at Strathclyde Park Rowing Club in April aimed at bringing high potential Scottish youngsters into the Olympic programme.Specifically, the Start programme is targeting females 5’10 and taller aged between 14-22 years old, and males 6’2 and taller aged between 14-20, who are not already rowing, although existing rowers can still apply to be part of the programme.

The search is on to find more than 3,000 volunteers who will be the welcoming face of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships – an exciting new multi-sport event that brings together some of the continent’s leading sports.
Applications officially opened this morning with volunteers set to play an essential role in the experience offered to athletes, officials, media and spectators as they visit Glasgow and Scotland next year. Volunteers will support a wide range of functions from Spectator Services and Accreditation, to Transport and Media and much more.
