Another Gold For Stanning as Coxless Pair Title is Retained

Posted: August 12, 2016

Lossiemouth's Heather Stanning retained her Olympic crown when she and her partner Helen Glover dominated their coxless pairs final on Friday morning.
The British pair were in charge from the first stroke and built a lead in the first half.  By the 1500-metre mark they were four seconds ahead of the field and could afford to watch the others scramble for the minor medals as they stayed out of trouble at the head of the field.

Grainger Takes Silver in Thursday's Olympic Racing

Posted: August 11, 2016

Katherine Grainger won British rowing's first medal of the Olympic regatta and the last one of her career when, along with partner Vicky Thornley, she took a hard-fought silver in Thursday's double sculls final.

Scottish Rowers in action on Day One in Rio

Posted: August 7, 2016

The first two Scottish rowers in action in Saturday's opening day of racing, Alan Sinclair and Katherine Grainger, successfully progressed to their semi-finals on Tuesday - both finished second in their opening heats on a day when conditions in the middle part of the course caused real havoc, with a capsize and boat-stopping crabs happening throughout the racing programme.

Scottish Rowing's plans for the next 4 years (2017-2021) are now being developed and it is important that our members have the opportunity to input to this process.

The key themes have already been sent to club secretaries for circulation and comment within the club but in addition we are holding 3 consultation sessions across Scotland, hosted by Mike Morrice, President of Scottish Rowing.

These will take the form of a short presentation setting out the key themes for the next 4 years followed by a Q&A.  An overview of these key themes is available to view here.
